Suger... Sugar...

.

Sugar! Pretty much the bane of my existence. Since I know I need less of it. And I also know I'm quite addicted to it. -sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh-

.

Way back when I first started drinking coffee, I tried to do it, black. Even then, I couldn't.

.

Soooo, it you're addicted to anything, the only way to get free of the addiction, is to totally get it out of your life, 'cold turkey.' You have no idea how terrifying that thought is to me. Can't I just cut down? Can't I just cut back? Can't i just have less than I really want?

Not according to writings on the topic....

I'm *doomed*...

Cookie cutters only good for...

Of cookie cutters... Just reading a blog, where the gal stated that her style is 'Organized Chaos.' And she showed the inside of a lovely built-in cabinet in her home. And believe me, she wasn't kidding! ,-)

There were a number of shelves with 'oodles' of pretty little 'things,' on them. I suppose they were pretty little figurines and etc., which she'd collected over time. Plus, pretty little things which 'crafty' pals had made for her. Maybe she made some herself, as well as just collecting.

But all in all, it was just too much of a jumble, for my taste. But of course, I didn't say that. This 'organized chaos thing,' is her 'thing.' And that's great.

And this is where the cookie cutters come in. [By now you're probably wondering if I'm ever going to get around to cookie cutters!!! -grin-] My feeling is - cookie cutters are only good, for making cookies. Not good for people...

Seems super for each of us to get to know what our style is, and to happily embrace it. For her, all those little things on shelves of that cabinet, made her smile. But there's no reason why such, has to make me smile. I don't have to pattern my tastes, on hers. Nor does she have to pattern hers, on mine.

So -- I feel --
cookie cutters are only good, for making cookies. Not good for making people... Or their choices. :-)

How do we face...?

Very warm wishes for a Happy New Year, to us all. May we all learn from the present economic situation... Perhaps learn to [really] notice the difference between our 'wants' and our 'needs.' Yeah, that sounds mighty 'bahhh humbug.' Yup, it does. But instead of seeing the 'bahh humbug' aspect of it, maybe we can try to see the 'silver lining' aspect of it. [More 'Pollyanna' stuff I know... -sigh- So... bite me! -grin-]

We're living through a recession and no magic wands or wishful thinking, will change that. So, how do we live through the inevitable? With what mind set do we choose, to live through it? [Yes, our own mind set is still under our own control.] Do we choose to whine and cry and moan? Does that do any good? Nope. That choice only makes us feel worse.

So, what's the alternative?

How about what I said above... Really note our 'wants' and our 'needs.' Put 'wants' aside for the time being, and concentrate on getting our 'needs.' And then, learn to be content with that.

OK, if you want to scream at me now, you can. >,-)
